You cannot obtain Military Personnel Files, or practically any other information about an individual Veteran ONLINE. Their discharge information is private. You need a release from the veteran in order to obtain a copy of the file.
Many companies advertise that you can view “All military records online” thru their pay web site. All you will see is an incomplete list of Selective Service records as well as some discharge dates. You cannot find out what type of discharge a Veteran received without their permission or that of the next of kin of a deceased Veteran.
